MS. SEHAR AHMED
Primary Head & English specialist
Ms. Sehar is an accomplished architect turned educator with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young children. She holds a Diploma in Architecture and comes from a family of furniture makers, which has instilled in her a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Having worked in the fields of architecture, interior design, and building construction for several years, Ms. Sehar decided to pursue her desire to teach and make a difference in the lives of little kids. She is currently the primary lead teacher at The Learning Tree, where she specialises in teaching Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy to children between the ages of 5 and 10. In addition, she recently took on the role of Administrative Supervisor at the institution.
Ms. Sehar’s most recent qualification is in Teaching English Phonics to Young Kids through the Jolly Phonics programme. This qualification has greatly enhanced her ability to provide an intensive phonics programme for struggling readers. She is also a skilled childcare professional who ensures a safe, healthy, and fun environment for children to explore and develop their skills.
With her experience in managing groups of children of various ages, Ms. Sehar excels at creating and implementing daily lesson plans that enhance the regular classroom curriculum. She is adept at assessing individual student progress and recording their academic development.
In addition to her expertise in teaching Phonics and Literacy, Ms. Sehar is highly proficient in teaching Hindi and spoken Urdu. She firmly believes in making learning fun and creative, combining playful teaching methods with a systematic approach in her classroom.
Ms. Sehar is committed to continuous learning and professional development. She has completed the Certified Online Educator course from Hamdan Bin Mohammad Smart University in the UAE. She has also recently finished the 60-hour Educator TEFL course from the Bridge Educator Group in the USA, further expanding her teaching skills.
Currently, Ms. Sehar is taking a course on parenting titled “Everyday Parenting: The ABC’s of Child Rearing” offered by Yale University on Coursera. This course equips her with a toolkit of behaviour-change techniques to improve her approach with children and adolescents. It also challenges common parenting misconceptions and ineffective strategies.
Outside of her teaching career, Ms. Sehar indulges in her passion for crocheting. She has taught numerous students at The Learning Tree the art of crocheting, emphasising its therapeutic benefits in reducing stress and anxiety while fostering self-esteem.
Ms. Sehar is a proud mother of two daughters and cherishes the time she spends with them, further deepening her understanding of child development and parenting.
